UPDATE 9/21: The 41-year-old self-confessed killer of Republican teenager Cayler Ellingson has been set free after posting $50,000 bond Tuesday. Violent left-wing extremist Shannon Brandt admitted to striking and killing the young man with his SUV after a political argument during a 911 call to police, then fled the scene without rendering aid.

Since his release, Shannon Brandt has allegedly begun to scrub his social media accounts of any politically inconvenient details. The North Dakota man has been charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident. 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson, a conservative, was on the way home from a local “street dance” that occurred not long before the incident.
Despite killing Cayler Ellingson over an alleged political argument, Brandt, twenty-three years Ellingson’s senior, had claimed the eighteen-year-old was part of a “Republican extremist group” and was calling on others to “come get him.”
So far, the claim has zero evidence to support it, and no witnesses have been found to corroborate Brandt’s story.

Since the news broke of Calyer Ellingson’s murder, Conservative pundits and right-wing media outlets have begun to blame the system, specifically President Joe Biden and his markedly anti-Republican rhetoric, for incensing leftists like Shannon Brandt. Just a few weeks prior, Democratic President Joe Biden gave a speech in Philadelphia in which he openly “declared war” on supporters of former President Donald Trump and labeled them as “threats to our democracy.” Biden’s cabinet, which is currently manned by several prominent jews including Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Attorney-General Merrick Garland, and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, are just some of the fifteen other jews who provide the elderly President counsel.

The politically motivated car attack employed by leftist-extremist Shannon Brandt, and his swift, subsequent release starkly contrasts with the case of right-wing protestor James Fields, who fled a mob of armed Antifa after the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Va. While Fields was denied bond and sentenced to a draconian 419 years behind bars, Shannon Brandt is now allowed to walk free despite a confession, highlighting a clear double standard in the American criminal justice system.

The story of the politically-motivated killing of Cayler Ellingson is ongoing, and this article will continue to be updated as new details emerge.
MCHENRY, N.D – A 41-year-old North Dakota man struck and killed a conservative-leaning teenager in what looks to be a politically motivated attack with an SUV. The suspect was even reported to have confessed to everything during the initial call to 911.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of September 18th, in McHenry at approximately 2:30 am. Cayler Ellingson, 18, had just called his mother for help because the accused, Shannon Brandt, 41, was chasing him through the streets in his SUV. Ellingson, alone and on foot, had just departed a local “street dance” he was attending some moments prior.

During the phone call, Cayler Ellingson asked his mother if she knew who Brandt was, which she admitted that she did. According to initial reports, his mother believes that her son didn’t know him. When Ellingson’s mother finally arrived at the scene to assist, Ellingson had already been killed.
Brandt was the one that originally called 911 dispatch after striking Ellingson. During the phone call, he openly confessed that he ran over Ellingson and told dispatch that at some point during the night, they had got into a heated political argument and that the eighteen-year-old was actually a part of a “Republican extremist group.”
Brandt alleged that during their argument, Cayler called for violence against the leftist and supposedly asked others to “come get him” though no evidence of this claim has been substantiated. Police officers have confirmed that Brandt was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Ellingson had suffered serious injuries from the crash and was taken to Carrington hospital by way of ambulance. He later passed away from his wounds.

The investigation is still ongoing, and police are apparently looking for witnesses who may be able to provide testimony to the politically motivated attack. “We do not know of any witnesses. We are still making attempts to interview potential witnesses from the street dance, people that were present prior to the crash happening,” said North Dakota Highway Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind.
Yet despite openly admitting to the apparent politically-motivated murder of a teenage Republican, Brandt was only charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident by the NDHP. Hate crime charges, or any charge that would better reflect the political nature of the crime, were nowhere to be found.
On Monday, Brandt was issued the criminal charges during his initial court appearance via Zoom. The police department informed press members that “more serious” charges could be added later. “I have a job, a life and a house and things I don’t want to see go by the wayside — family that are very important to me,” Brandt said during the hearing.

To add insult to injury, a local judge ordered Brandt to be held on a measly $50,000 bail, which he ultimately objected to. Citing concerns over his domestic affairs, Brandt now faces a maximum of twenty years behind bars for the alleged political slaying of Ellingson, and because of a previous DUI conviction under his belt, a likely minimum of ten.
Since one only needs to pay around ten to fifteen percent of a bail bond to be released from jail, this means that Brandt only has to front $5000 to $7,500 to walk free after the apparent killing of his teenage political opposition.
A GoFundMe has been set up to better support the Ellingson family in their time of need, and to help cover the funeral cost. At the time of this article, the fundraiser has already amassed over $5,000 from friends, family, and concerned citizens.
“Cayler has went to heaven and will be missed by his Mom, Dad, Brother, Uncles, Aunts, cousins many Family and Friends,” the fundraiser’s description reads. “With this being said I would like to set a goal to help Sheri, Cole and Chase with Funeral expenses and anything to help them through this whole grieving process.”

While the American government ramps up its campaign of systemic political oppression against everyday conservative-leaning citizens, savage political violence has often followed in its wake from often ignored left-wing elements. On August 30th, a mob of armed left-wing extremists violently surrounded an elderly man in Portland, Oregon, before opening fire, injuring the man and several of their own. On June 25th, a radical Antifa leftist was arrested for attacking police officers with a homemade flamethrower during pro-abortion protests which swept the country.
The Justice Report reached out to the North Dakota Highway Patrol for further information and has yet to receive a response. The story of the political murder of Republican teenager Cayler Ellingson is ongoing, and this article will be updated to reflect any new information that develops.
