Albion, Illinois – An Illinois judge was found shot to death outside his home during the 2024 presidential election. His Asian wife was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting.

The incident occurred on November 5th, when the Edwards County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) responded to an emergency call at a residence Albion around 12:14 p.m.

A deputy arrived on the scene and found Judge Michael J. Valentine—who is White—lying outside the house, deceased.

His wife Megan Valentine—who is Asian—was promptly taken into custody at the scene.

Following initial assessments by ECSO, the Illinois State Police (ISP) were asked to lead the investigation, which caused a brief procedural delay in formal charges.

On November 7, after a thorough examination of evidence by ISP agents, the Illinois State’s Attorney Appellate Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against Megan Valentine.

Megan Valentine is now facing charges, including First Degree Murder and other related felonies.

She is now being held at the White County jail, and authorities have not provided further information.

The tragic death of Judge Michael J. Valentine highlights the often-overlooked issue of interracial domestic violence, which has received little attention despite the rise in interracial relationships.

A study cited by the National Library of Medicine found that interracial couples account for up to 17.9% of reported domestic abuse cases and are 1.5 times more likely to engage in mutual assault compared to “ethnic minority” couples.

Interracial couples were also twice as likely as White couples to experience mutual assault.

In some cases, conflicts within interracial relationships have escalated to deadly violence.

Last month a Black man was charged with first-degree murder after his White girlfriend was found shot in the face in her bedroom.

Earlier this year a female Filipino ‘OnlyFans model’ was arrested after a White pastor was shot to death in Las Vegas.
