Cabot, Arkansas – An accused child rapist is dead after a confrontation with the father of his alleged victim.
Shortly after 1 AM on October 8th, police responded to a call for a missing female child. Before their arrival, a separate call for a shooting was made.
Upon arrival at the shooting, police determined that 36-year-old Aaron Spencer had shot 67-year-old Michael Fosler, fatally wounding him. In the company of Fosler was the teenage daughter of Spencer, who had previously accused Fosler of rape.

Lonoke County Sheriff, John Staley claims that the charge of first-degree murder against Aaron Spencer is preliminary. Therefore, the decision to formally charge Spencer remains with the Lonoke County prosecuting attorney’s office.
Aaron Spencer was released on bond the same day as his arrest.
Many news reports contain the home address of the Spencer’s, which was sourced from the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office.
Heather Spencer, Aaron’s wife, felt that this was offensive.
“Some things we will never know,” Heather said on Facebook, “but we know that the police department afforded this predator privacy they did not give our family[,] Including posting our home address. I’m deeply offended by the way this was handled by the county sheriff’s office.”

Heather Spencer also appeared to give more details into Fosler’s July 11 arrest for the alleged rape of her daughter, claiming her daughter’s life was in danger.
“This man had a no contact order for stalking/groping our child…He [Fosler] was looking at the rest of his pathetic life in jail, and our daughter was the only witness,” Spencer said, again on Facebook.
If the charge of first-degree murder is officially filed against Spencer, the effects could be life-altering.
Per the James Law Firm in Little Rock, AR, first-degree murder is the second most serious murder charge in Arkansas and could net a “penalty of 10 to 40 years in prison or life imprisonment.”
A GoFundMe account was created for Aaron Spencer’s legal defense. However, due to the charge of murder, GoFundMe invoked its terms of service against legal funds for certain crimes and removed the post.
Despite this setback, Heather Spencer excitedly reported that the goal of $50,000 had already been shattered and the family has raised over $100,000 for Aaron’s potential legal defense.

Heather Spencer claims that she was informed Michael Fosler had previously served as both a school resource officer and the chief of police in a small Indiana town.
However, the Justice Report could only confirm that he had lived in Indiana and had been in the US Army via his late wife’s 2023 obituary.
“They [Mr. and Mrs. Fosler] relocated in 1995 from Indiana due to Mike’s military career.”
Jane Fosler’s obituary originates from a Cabot, AR funeral home.
Per his LinkedIn account, Fosler served in the US Army for 19 years and 5 months.
On July 11 this year, Fosler was arrested and charged with at least two crimes; rape and internet stalking of a child.
Sometime thereafter, Fosler made bond and was released.
The exact nature of how the Spencer child ended up in Fosler’s company just after 1 AM on October 8 remains a mystery. What is also uncertain, is exactly how Fosler ended up being shot.
“As this is an ongoing investigation,” Sheriff Staley stated on 10 October, “only limited details can be released.”

The prosecuting attorney’s (PA) office is responsible for initiating all official charges. The office includes the elected prosecuting attorney, Chuck Graham, a Republican, along with his chief deputy and six other deputy prosecutors.
While Fosler’s alleged pedophilic actions are legally indefensible, individuals in America are sometimes prosecuted for attempting to prevent victimization by sexual predators.
In December of 2023, a Doordash driver was attacked for “misgendering” a transwoman during a routine delivery. He was forced to shoot and kill in self-defense.
The man is now facing murder charges along with hate crime enhancements for his alleged role in killing a so-called “trans advocate.”
